Anatomy App

5 min read

How the App Is Structured #

This overview introduces the layout of the Anatomy app so you know where to find things before diving into specific tasks.

Main navigation #

The left-hand sidebar is always visible and has three sections:

  1. Home – a dashboard with new, popular, and recently viewed content.
  2. 3D Model – an interactive human body model you can rotate, isolate, and explore by muscle, bone, or joint.
  3. Theory – a video library organized by topic (Anatomical Terminology, Origin & Insertion, Muscle Physiology, Nerves Anatomy, Anatomy Trains).

A Help icon sits at the bottom of the sidebar with FAQs, feedback, and legal links.

Home screen #

When you open the app you land on Home. It shows a welcome message and several horizontal, scrollable rows of content: “New Content,” “Most Popular,” “Recently Viewed,” and “You Might Be Interested In.” These rows are for browsing and discovery — click any thumbnail to open that video or model view.

Top bar #

Across the top of every screen you’ll find:

– **Search** – a text field that searches the entire app at once (both the 3D Model’s muscles/bones/joints and Theory videos).

– **Bookmark icon** – opens **My Collection**, where saved videos are stored.

– **Profile icon** – your account menu (name, email, My Profile, Pricing, and Log out).

 The 3D Model section #

Using the 3D Model #

This covers the interactive 3D body model, which lets you explore muscles, bones, and joints, and jump directly from any structure to related exercises.

Opening the model #

  1. Click **3D Model** in the left sidebar.
  2. The model loads facing forward, showing the muscular layer by default.

Switching layers #

On the right side of the screen, three icons let you switch which body system is displayed:

– **Muscles** (default)

– **Bones**

– **Joints**

Click any icon to switch the entire model to that layer.

Moving around the model #

– Click and drag on the model to rotate it.

– Use the **+** and **–** icons on the right to zoom in and out.

– Click the **Home View** icon (bottom right) to reset the camera to the default angle.

– Use the **undo** and **redo** arrows (bottom left of the toolbar) to step back or forward through your recent view changes.

Selecting a muscle, bone, or joint #

  1. Click directly on any structure on the model, or use the in-model search (magnifying glass icon) to find it by name.
  2. A panel opens on the left with the structure’s name and tabs for related structures in the same group (for example, clicking one abdominal muscle shows tabs for other abdominal muscles).
  3. **Isolate** hides everything except the selected structure. **Hide** removes it from view entirely.

Reading the info panel #

Inside the panel, three expandable rows give you details:

– **Movements** – the actions the muscle performs, each with a short demo clip.

– **General Info** – category and classification details.

– **Origin & Insertion** – where the muscle attaches on the skeleton.

Jumping to exercises from a muscle #

Below the info rows is an **Exercises** section with two links: **Strengthening** and **Stretching**. Clicking either expands a scrollable list of exercise cards that train (or stretch) that specific muscle — click any card to open its full exercise page.

Tips #

– Use Isolate when you want a clean view of one muscle without visual clutter from surrounding structures.

– The Strengthening/Stretching links inside a muscle’s panel are the fastest way to go from “what does this muscle do” to “how do I train it.”

– If you lose your place after zooming or rotating, click Home View to reset instantly rather than manually rotating back.

The Theory section #

This is a video library. A left-hand list lets you jump to a specific topic category, or browse “All Videos.” Each category shows its videos as thumbnails with a duration badge; clicking one opens a simple video player.

[SCREENSHOT: Theory section showing the category list on the left and the “Most Viewed” row of video thumbnails]

My Collection #

Click the bookmark icon in the top bar to open My Collection. By default there’s one folder, **My Favorites**, and you can create additional folders to organize saved videos. A free-text search box lets you search within your saved items.

[SCREENSHOT: My Collection panel open, showing the Free search field, New Folder button, and My Favorites folder]

Account menu #

Clicking your profile icon (top right) opens a menu with your name and email, plus links to **My Profile** (account details and language) and **Pricing**.

[SCREENSHOT: Profile dropdown menu open, showing name/email at top and My Profile, Pricing, Log out options — email address blurred out for privacy before publishing]

Tips #

– The in-app Search (top bar) is the fastest way to jump straight to a muscle, bone, joint, or video — you don’t need to browse through Theory or the 3D Model manually.

– Content saved to My Collection is only visible to your account and won’t affect what other users see.
