Strength Training App Structure

2 min read

This overview introduces the layout of the Strength Training app so you know where to find things before diving into specifics.

Main navigation #

The left-hand sidebar is always visible and has five sections:

  • Home – a dashboard with new, popular, recommended, and recently viewed content.
  • Exercises – a searchable, filterable library of exercise demonstrations. This is one of the most-used areas of the app, since it’s where you look up how to perform and analyze specific exercises.
  • 3D Model – an interactive body model you can rotate, isolate, and explore by muscle, bone, or joint.
  • Theory – a video library covering the science behind training, organized by topic.
  • Training – build or browse structured workout programs. This area is covered in its own separate guide.

A Help icon appears at the bottom of the sidebar, with links to FAQs, feedback, and legal information.

Home screen #

When you open the app, you land on the Home screen. It shows a welcome message and several horizontal, scrollable rows: “New Content,” “Most Popular,” “Recommended For You,” “Recently Viewed,” and “You Might Be Interested In.” These rows mix exercises, theory videos, and training plans together. Click any thumbnail to open it.

Top bar #

Across the top of every screen, you’ll find:

  • Search – a text field that searches the entire app at once (exercises, muscles, and theory videos together).
  • Bookmark icon – opens My Collection, where saved videos and exercises are stored.
  • Profile icon – your account menu (name, email, My Profile, Pricing, and Log out).

The Exercises section #

This is where most day-to-day work happens in the app. It’s a searchable grid of exercise cards, each showing the exercise name and two tags (Category and Area). Above the grid sits a Search Exercise field and a Filter button. The Filter panel lets you narrow the list by Category, Area, Sub-Area, Equipment, and Movement Pattern. Clicking any card opens the full exercise details page, including video, muscle breakdown, instructions, and related content.

Active Muscles #

The Active Muscles panel breaks down which muscles are involved, grouped by role:

  • Target (red) — the main muscle the exercise trains.
  • Synergist (pink) — muscles that assist the target muscle.
  • Stabilizers (yellow) — muscles that hold the body steady during the movement. Click any of these three rows to expand it and see the specific muscle names. Click a muscle name to jump straight to that muscle’s page in the 3D Model, where you can see it highlighted on the body and read more about it.

Tips

  • Check the Common Mistakes tab when it’s available; it’s the fastest way to see what “wrong form” looks like next to correct form.
  • Clicking a muscle name under Active Muscles is a shortcut into the 3D Model; you don’t need to search for the muscle separately.

The 3D Model section #

This is an interactive body model. On the right side, three icons let you switch between viewing Muscles, Bones, and Joints as separate layers. Clicking any structure on the model (or finding it through the in-model search) opens a panel with details: Movements, General Info, and Origin & Insertion, plus buttons to Isolate or Hide that structure.

The Theory section #

This is a video library. A left-hand list lets you jump to a specific topic category (12 in total, covering everything from Anatomical Terminology to Research Insights), or browse “All Videos.” Each category shows its videos as thumbnails with a duration badge; clicking one opens a video player.

Tips

  • The Exercises section, the 3D Model, and exercise detail pages are all cross-linked — a muscle name on an exercise page opens that muscle in the 3D Model, and a muscle in the 3D Model links back to exercises that train it. You rarely have to search from scratch once you’re inside any of the three.
  • The top bar Search is the fastest way to jump straight to an exercise, muscle, or theory video without browsing manually.
  • Content saved to My Collection is only visible to your account and won’t affect what other users see.
