How the App Is Structured #

This overview introduces the layout of the Workout app so you know where to find things. Unlike Muscle & Motion’s content-library apps (Anatomy, Posture, Yoga and Strength Training), the Workout app is built around programs your coach assigns you, so its structure is simpler and centers on a calendar rather than a sidebar of content categories.

Main navigation #

A bottom bar with two tabs is always visible:

  1. Plans & workouts – your calendar and assigned training programs. This is also the screen you land on when you open the app.
  2. My profile – account settings, your coach(es), language, units, and app info.

Plans & workouts #

At the top is a monthly calendar. Days with a scheduled workout are marked with a small dot, and you can move between months with the arrows on either side of the month name.

Below the calendar, Your plans lists the training program(s) assigned to you. Each plan card shows your coach’s name, the plan title, and a short description (for example, a 3-day-a-week strength program). Tap a plan to open it.

Inside a plan #

Opening a plan shows its full description at the top, followed by a Workouts section with two view toggles:

  • Workouts schedule – the same dot-marked calendar, but scoped to this plan’s workout days.
  • Workouts list – the same workouts shown as a simple chronological list by date instead.

Tapping a date or a workout entry opens a panel from the bottom showing that day’s workout name (for example, “Volume Day W1”), how many exercises it contains, and the exercises themselves. Each exercise row shows a thumbnail, its name, and the sets/reps/load breakdown (for example, 5 sets of 5 reps at 45–85%).

Tap Detailed sets on any exercise to expand it into a set-by-set list, showing the reps, load percentage, and rest time for each individual set. Tap it again to collapse.

Exercise detail pages #

Tapping an exercise thumbnail opens its detail page, with a Next exercise button at the top to move through the workout in order. Three tabs organize the content:

  • Videos – a swipeable set of cards: a demonstration video pairing a real person with a muscle-activity overlay, followed by static illustrations of the target muscles/joints and key coaching cues (like foot or spine positioning), each with a short explanation.
  • Common Mistakes – a swipeable set of cards, each comparing a correct vs. incorrect version of the movement (marked with a red X and green check) with an explanation of the mistake and how to correct it.
  • Preparatory Exercises – a swipeable set of related, easier exercises that build up to this one, each with a Go to full exercise button to open that exercise on its own page.

My profile #

This tab covers your account and app settings:

  • Profile settings – your name, email, and options to change your password or delete your account.
  • Coaches – the coach(es) assigned to you, with their photo and name.
  • Choose Language – switch the app’s display language.
  • System of Units – toggle between Imperial and Metric for weights shown throughout your plans.
  • More Apps – links out to Muscle & Motion’s other apps and website.
  • About us and Terms & Conditions – company info and legal pages.
  • Follow us – links to Muscle & Motion’s social media.

Tips #

  • The Workout app doesn’t have a content library like Anatomy, Posture, or Yoga — everything you see under Plans & workouts comes from what your coach has assigned you.
  • Use Workouts schedule when you want workouts in calendar context (e.g., to see what’s coming up this month), and Workouts list when you just want to scroll through them in order.
  • Detailed sets is worth expanding before you start training — it shows your rest time per set, not just the total sets and reps.
