Deltoid muscle anatomy in motion

The deltoid muscle originates from the scapula and the clavicle,
and passes over the shoulder joint through the three heads towards the humerus.
The deltoid muscle contains pennate muscle fibers, especially in the middle head.
One of their properties is the ability to carry a high load in a small range of movement (short contraction length).
